CFW calls on fashion design students

Cardiff Fashion Week is calling on fashion design students to get involved in this year’s event.

The call comes from the organisers who are determined to make the week accessible for emerging designers keen to get a break in the fashion world.

The opportunity to showcase their collections at the premier fashion event in Wales is being offered at a token cost of £50 plus vat per student. The offer also applies to recent graduates who have just finished their official studies. It is open to students who have studied design in Wales or who are Welsh and studying in other parts of the country or even overseas.

Paula Abbandonato, organiser of Cardiff Fashion Week, said: “Being part of a fashion week which is close to home and recognised as the main fashion event in the Welsh calendar is an opportunity we feel we must make available for students and recent graduates.

“If we are to encourage home grown talent to stay in Wales, these opportunities must be available on their doorstep. They are the future of fashion and we are looking forward to having them and their collections on board.”
